Headmaster

Welcome to Heritage Christian Academy!

John Walsh, the current headmaster at HCA has more than 20 years of educational experience, with the last 11 at the administrative level. He received a Masters of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2000, and then a Master of Arts in Special Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, both from Murray State University.  John, though a native of a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, has lived in Christian county and the surrounding region for more than 30 years. Both of his daughters are graduates of HCA.

Heritage Christian Academy (HCA) welcomes the opportunity to serve your family. We are always excited to share what great things the Lord has done and continues to do for our school. Since 1994, our mission at HCA is to “provide academic excellence based on Biblical principles," while enhancing the Christ-centered family and strengthening the local churches.

HCA is an independent Christian school that serves students who attend over 80 different churches in the surrounding area. Everything we do on our campus from early morning to late in the evening must give glory to God alone. We exist to assist parents in training true worshippers of God. Our students are trained to understand Truth, engage the culture, defend the faith, and win the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through our high academic standards, strong athletic programs, and excellent fine arts, our students are encouraged to love the Lord with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Our faculty and staff are dedicated professionals who are committed Christians that love the Lord and are committed to helping students grow both academically and spiritually. Our teachers feel a calling to serve God in our school and have a continuing quest for excellence in every aspect of the school.

Academically, we strive for excellence and offer a rigorous course of study. Our students have been accepted to universities around the country and are offered an array of college scholarships. We consider our greatest accomplishment the part we play in our students’ character and spiritual development. It is our prayer that every student who is a part of HCA experiences the love of God, the truth of His Word and the joy of His salvation.

We would like to invite you and your family to visit our campus and we will do our best to serve you. We hope you will come away knowing that the Lord is glorified at HCA and that you, too, will want your family to be a part of the HCA experience.
