HCA soccer wins inaugural KCAA girls' division title

The Heritage Christian Academy girls’ soccer team completed an undefeated season and won the 2016 Kentucky Christian Athletic Association championship on Saturday with a 3-0 semifinal win against Trinity Christian Academy and a 3-1 win in the final over Somerset Christian School.

Kaitlyn Hayes did the bulk of the scoring for the Lady Warriors during the final four, finding the net a total of five times in two games. That performance included a hat trick in the title-clinching victory over Somerset, which helped HCA rally from a 1-0 deficit. <<MORE>>


Time Capsule (story from the New Era)

Linda Garris remembers being the assistant headmaster at Heritage Christian Academy 15 years ago, when she welcomed people on a bright and sunny morning as they buried a time capsule near the entrance of the school.

On Friday, Garris, now headmaster, had a moment of Deja vu as she again welcomed staff and students on another bright and sunny day before they opened up that time capsule and set a new one into the ground, not to be opened until 2028. <<MORE>>
