To be like Jesus we need to learn of Him, observe Him, and learn of His ways. We understand without Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, we can do nothing that will make a difference eternally. But to be different it takes courage, discipline, and strength. Heritage Christian Academy strives to instill these attributes into our students. Not only do we call ourselves a Christian School, we call on God to help us be one. “Children are gifts from God” and parents are the keepers of those gifts. Building strong lives depends on the family first and foremost. The family is where the child learns the earliest and most important lessons. The family is where a child’s morals are formed and where attitudes are developed that will go with them to school and into life. The school will help to build the moral framework, but without a solid foundation built by the family, the building is more difficult. We encourage parents to begin early to instill Christ-like character into the gifts God has given them. They are only children for a short time, and we need to use our time with them wisely. We are promised that if we “Train a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6
The mission of Heritage Christian Academy is “To provide academic excellence based on Biblical principles, while enhancing the Christ-centered family and strengthening the local churches. We are committed to equip each student intellectually, socially, physically and spiritually, and to educate caring, contributing members of the body of Christ and of society.” Everyone has a part, but once again the family is the most important and influential. The challenge then is for everyone concerned with the child to do “his/her utmost for His highest.”
Let us all work together to build morals, strength of character, and Christ-like attitudes in our children. If we want our children to live strong, moral, Christian lives, then we must set the example. Let us love one another just as Christ loves us. Let us not grow weary in well doing, but let us be a united team whose goal is to raise these children in the admonition of the Lord.
May God bless us and you with His richest blessings as we work together to educate these precious gifts God has given into our keeping. We, as a board pray continuously for God to take control and guide our steps.
